Burgess Hill Albion Pub Golf  SAT 18th OCT 2008

Finally.......what a popular event this proved to be, with keen golfers from all 3 teams turning out for excused for a good a fashion drink up, it turned out to be a great success. Several proper golfers dressing up in the correct attire Fred "Darren Clarke" Stringer, Luke "Michael Jackson" Vick, Dave "John Daly" Bannister, Kevin "Jim Furyk" Hale, Nick "Robert Karlsson" Parry  and Andy "Sergio GarcĂa" Bale which added to the night.

Hole 1 - The Potters (Par 5) - First tee off time was about 7.48pm The Potters, Fred Stringer hitting an amazing first shot, straight in hole "Hole in one" (drinking a pint of really cold Fosters in one) Andy Bale was accused of cheating on the first hole as half his first pint was accidentally knock (over), the forfeit for this was to drink two sumbuca shots. With a lot of golfers having success of the first hole, holing in one, it was going to be an interesting night of golf! The second hole was also in the Potters Pub, a shot of sambuca which I believe everyone holed in one.

Hole 3 - The Top House (Par 4) - with a couple of "water hazards" - Bottle of Corona. This hole only being the third was proving tough for Luke Vick who tactics were to try and grass up one of his four ball saying "As I was drinking my drink Nick Parry called me a c__k, I find this etiquette very bad and off putting!" Yer yer Luke pull the other one. Fred's form continued as he holed in one for the 3rd time only to get brain freeze in the process.

Hole 4 - The Railway (Par 3) - Glass of Wine, the newly refurbished pub/bar was quite appt for a glass of house wine, we had the landlord scratching round trying to find enough wine glasses to for fill our order, he couldn't understand why everyone was drinking wine! Just thought I'd mention the fact that James Vick was proving a strong contender to Fred also drinking every drink in one!

Hole 5 - Quench (Par 1) - shot from shot menu, it was here that Joachen Angell kept losing count, not sure if that was down to the amount he had already drunk or that he was just impatient and drink more than anyone else, instead of having one shot he had more like 5 shots in here! Most golfers opting for the Slippery Nipple proved popular, Mark Collison tactics were poor, getting his Mum to meet him in Quench so he could get out of having to have a shot!

Hole 6 - Mooch (Par 3) - Blue WKD - With most golfers seeing double, the drink was starting to take its toll. Mooch didn't know what hit them as we drank them out of Blue WKD. I think there must of been something in Simon Gardner's drink other than Blue WKD as it brought out the disco dancer in him and he showed a few of us the legendry "running man" on the way up to Bar Cena! Maybe Simon can give some of the other players a demo at the Christmas Party.

Hole 7 - Bar Cena (Par 3) - Vodka Red Bull - this gave all golfers a lift they needed to take them through the final 2 holes especially Chris Dunn! Some of the older golfers would like to thank Paul Dixon for helping them order Vodka Red Bull as its been a while for some of them!

Hole 8 - Jacobs Post (Par 5) - Magners/Bulmers - Quick and swift drink in here! very impressed that all golfers made it onto the final hole......!

Hole 9 - Quench (Par 3) - Gin & Tonic - Most golfers drank this drink like it was water and because it made them look gay. It was reported here that Nick Parry tried to disguise the fact he was throwing up by making out he was using his Mobile phone! Again bad tactics Nick. With all 9 holes played, Fred "Darren Clarke" Stringer and James "I'm a complete animal when I drink" Vick were tying for 1st place. Both had played a magnificent round of golf and shot -20, basically holing every hole in 1 even the Par 5. Not bad considering Fred's never played golf before, so we had a sudden death play-off first golfer to down another Gin and Tonic with ice and lemon!, this again proved to be a closely competed battle and experience played a big part as Fred out played James in drinking ever last drop! Unlucky Posh and well done to Fred "Darren Clarke" Stringer winner of BHAFC Pub Golf 2008

Winner: Fred Stringer / Runners up: James Vick

Thanks to those that attended, especially the people that dressed up, but most of all a big thanks to the Social Committee for making this such a successful evening.

After this being such a success the Social Committee are going to organise another Pub Golf Competition in 2009.....

Burgess Hill Albion Christmas Party SAT 20th DEC 2008

What a night, firstly the club would like to thank all that made the effort to come over to Hassocks Football Club and make the night what it was. Thank you to Hassocks Football Club for allowing us to use there facilities, Thanks to Luke Holloway for taking time out to entertain us and thank you to the Social Committee for organising the event. With such games as "Put the Pin on DAN BUTSON!" and "Limbo" it was going to be an interesting night.

The event started off slowly as most people had forgot to put their dancing shoes on but once the beer started to flow so did the dancing, Simon Gardner doing the legendary "Running-man 360" basically he did the famous running man with a little spin on it!! ho ho ho.....Luke Vick was also caught strutted his stuff to "Take on me" by Aha, bit gay if you ask me! at least he did dance. Luke nearly knocked himself out sliding on his socks along with Andrew Davies, which could have been nasty! Due the amount of alcohol he had drunk he probably wouldn't have felt a thing. Dan Butson nearly took out a few people on the dance floor with his windmill dance, would like to thank Bobby Butson for his bit of DJing at the end, ( or should we say operating a iPOD shuffle), top work Bob.

Anyways thanks to all that did make the effort to attend the first Burgess Hill Albion Christmas Party and long may they continue. See you same time next year! The Albion
