Glenn joined the Albion in
the clubs first season in the Mid Sussex Football League. Glenn started his
playing career at right midfield, it was soon recognised that the position
best suited for him was in the centre of defence and this would be where
Glenn would play over 300 games, frustrating strikers, tackling hard not
allowing them any room, always fully committed in every game. Glenn was
awarded many trophies for his achievements, Players player (First Team &
Second Team) Most Improved player and something very special to Glenn the
Championship Trophy in the 2002 season gaining promotion to Division 3 where
Glenn was skipper. |

Richard "Johan Cruyff" Humphreys |

Richard played over 200 games for the Albion , a founder member he contributed towards the foundations of the club, in becoming a big part of the committee as club secretary. He achieved in his playing career, several trophies such as Most Improved, League Runners up and most importantly for Richard a Championship medal in 2003, in which Richard scored the winning goal helping the team to victory and what would prove vital towards the team going on to win the league. The best season Richard played in was 1996, if this season hadn’t been as successful as it was there may never had been a team today, Richard said “It was great family team”. During his playing career he would re-invent the “Johan Cruyff” turn, to this day something I think he would agree needs a bit more work on. Richard was not only a great defender but also a great person and was always fully committed in whatever he done. |
