Club Chairman - Stephen Humphreys

Club Secretary - Stephen Humphreys

Profile: Stephen Humphreys: Chairman and Secretary of Burgess Hill Albion FC. I have been involved in various roles within the club since its formation in 1996 from fixtures secretary, manager and now Secretary and Chairman. Originally from Burgess Hill I now live in Horsham with my wife Ros and my two young sons Adam and Ben. I follow Norwich City and am also a keen golfer when time allows. In 1996, due to a large amount of friends regularly playing football together, we decided to start up the club and run our own team. We have expanded year on year and have now progressed to the club we are today.

Club Fixtures Secretary - Adam Waller

Profile: I am now in my 11th year of being a player for the Albion and wanted to give something back to the club that has given me so much, by joining the committee. I have lived in Burgess Hill for 25 years, the last 7 of which have been with my wife Nikki. Burgess Hill Albion really is a family club; I was first introduced by my brother in law who enjoyed several years as a successful player and manager at the club. Much to my wife’s disgust sometimes, football really is my life. If I’m not playing or training with the Albion, I’m playing FIFA on the PS3 or watching my beloved Fulham at Craven Cottage. In between these and working in Canary Wharf, I do enjoy spending time with my wife, watching movies and recently carrying out a lot of DIY. It has been amazing to watch Burgess Hill Albion progress and grow over the years. I am very proud of the club and look forward to being part of the future of Burgess Hill Albion Football Club.

Club Social Secretary / Press Officer - Andrew Bale

Profile:have been affiliated to Burgess Hill Albion for over 10 years; this club has given me a lot of highs and a lot of lows. I have been involved on the football circuit since leaving school, playing football in Crawley for MEL FC, and more locally for Haywards Heath FC, Hurstpierpoint FC, St Francis FC finally ending up at Burgess Hill Albion FC, born and raised in Burgess Hill I am married to my beautiful wife Lisa who gives me tremendous support. Recently promoted into this position my aim and target is to ensure that Burgess Hill Albion FC continues to be the second largest football club within the Burgess Hill area. This club over the years has become a fantastic platform enabling young and old players to shine, I am very proud to part of this club.

Coaching Team

1st Team Manager - Dave Bannister

Profile: I am Brighton born and bred, I moved to Burgess Hill in year 2000 when I realized I was spending most of my time socially in the town. I now live in Hassocks with my gorgeous wife Yvonne, cheeky stepsons Conor and Owen, and beautiful daughter Lily. I also run my own carpet cleaning company in the time I have left over after keeping my family and the football club happy!!

I initially joined BHAFC as a Sunday team player whilst playing for Lewes Rovers FC on a Saturday in the old Division 1 of the Mid Sussex Football league. During my time at Rovers I was secretary and fixtures secretary and made over 120 appearances, the highlights of which were winning the Mowatt Cup in 2003 and finishing 4th in our final season in Division 1, a position I intend to eclipse this season with BHAFC!

Now in my 5th season in charge of the Albion first team, I have been fixtures secretary for several years but now glad Mr. Waller has now rescued me from that role. A sobering thought for me is that I am now approaching a stage where I have managed nearly as many games for BHAFC as I played (approx.190), although I occasionally make an appearance for the BHAFC Vets team!! The last 4 seasons have certainly been eventful for me, with a relegation, back to back promotions and 2 cup successes along the way.

We are currently a club on the way up and I hope to be a part of that for many years to come.

2nd Team Manager - Neil Williams

Profile: I joined the Ravens as a player in the 2005-2006 season and since I have made over 100 appearances for the club, now I relish in taking on the challenge of management with the full support of my partner Natasha and my two young daughters Yazmin and Maya. I started playing at the age of 5 and have always been a keen footballer, when I’m not playing I’m supporting my beloved West Ham United.
I'm extremely dedicated to my new roll within the club and hope to help the club achieve great things in the future.

3rd Team Manager - Ben Hopkins (Assistant Manager - Dave King)

Profile: I first represented the Albion about 4 years ago as a player and mid-way through last season I was handed the reins to the mighty 3rd team. This season I plan on us returning back to the dizzy heights of Mid-Sussex league Division 9. Away from the football pitch I am flanked by my girlfriend Hannah and also try to play cricket for Burgess Hill CC. I also enjoy long walks on the beach and a glass of scotch!

I truly believe that this club has the ability to reach the Barclays Premier League one day and really want to be involved and be part of that momentous day. We already have a larger fan base than Chelsea, Arsenal, Man City and Liverpool combined. Dave Bannister is better tactically than all the great British managers; Busby, Ferguson and Shankley, one day Bannister will be mentioned in the same breath, quite simply, my idol!

Veterans Manager - Kevin Hale

Profile: I became a member of the Burgess Hill Albion family when I signed on to play for the Sunday League team in 2005.  I played one match, washed the kit and then the team folded.  I think they were trying to tell me something. I signed on again in 2009 and played for the 3rd team.  Due to family commitments, I was only a part time player and unfortunately, could only play for one season (at least that’s better than one game). Due to the continued success of the 1st team, a new requirement in the 2010/11 season was that they needed to have qualified referee’s assistants.  As I couldn’t commit myself to playing, I still wanted to play my part, so I volunteered my services.  There’s nothing better on a Saturday afternoon, than running the line whilst being abused by the opponents. Having not played for a few seasons, I started to miss it (and being old), was aware that there was a Vets League in Mid Sussex.  I approached the committee about starting a new Vet’s team and got their backing.  Thankfully, the league backed it too.  My next mission was to get as many players as possible.  I was blown away by the interest and can’t believe how many old players actually play for Burgess Hill Albion.  It’s going to be a great challenge and also an enjoyable one.  It gives us older generation a chance to dust off our boots and show the youngsters how it’s done. Burgess Hill Albion is a great club with a great tradition.  Here’s to the next 15 years and making the club an even bigger success.

Club Coach - Adrian Howell - qualified FA Level 3 (UEFA 'B') Licence Coach

Profile: I am delighted to have been asked to join BHAFC this season and to coach all four teams. Being modest I would like to think I was by far and away the best candidate that they interviewed for the job, but being more realistic I think I might have been the only candidate!!

I am an FA Level 3 (UEFA B) qualified coach and have been coaching pretty much full time for about the last ten years (I also do a bit of driving instruction on the side), after spending twenty years working in the travel industry. I currently coach for numerous organisation’s and clubs, including Brighton & Hove Albion Womens Reserves and their boys U12 Elite Squad, as well as Haywards Heath College 1st XI and Ardingly College.  I played my youth football in Warwickshire where I was born, having trials for Oxford Utd (not being allowed to sign because my mum said school was more important) and then senior intermediate football in Surrey. If it wasn’t for other commitments I would now be turning out for BHAFC Vets.

Pre-season went extremely well, current sessions are still well attended and focused on the requirements of each team and results so far this season have reflected a growing understanding of the different coaching and game related strategies that have been introduced.

The rest of my family are also very much into football, with my son playing for Lewes U18’s and my daughter for the Brighton and Hove Albion Centre of Excellence U17’s. Sadly they are both far better players than I ever was, but at least I’m better than my wife!!  I do take full credit for their achievements, and all those hours in the garden seem to have paid off. Similarly if any of the BHAFC teams win promotion or a cup it will all be down to my brilliant coaching, but if (heaven forbid) any are relegated then that will simply be down to the players and managers.

For those looking for a friendly, ambitious, forward thinking and fast growing club, then look no further than BHAFC. Come to a coaching session to see how we do things.
